Bits of Environments

Yo
Here's some backgrounds, the scenes for my interactive animation

I was going to have a movement script on Freet for the different scenes, but not sure if I'll do that now. It'd be hard to get all the different things to happen to him.

How I'm Approaching Interaction

Here's my storyboard
Basically my interactive animation will be broken up into four environments
-Valley
-Jungle
-Cliff
-Temple

Certain animations will play at different points

And here's a bigger version

My eyelids as I fight off sleep

Time to see my walk cycle in AKSHUN

Anyway, here you go.
It's in a quicktime format..

Did that whet your appetite for hot walk cycle action? Well take a gander at some of my earlier attempts:

In brightest day or blackest night

Here's how I'm going to approach the walk cycle.
Break limbs into segments; animate by keyframes
None of that bone stuff >:I

And have some walk cycles. This one kind of looks robotic
and the other one is an actual robot! But walks like a zombie

I've also decided to start naming my posts on stuff i can see around my room

Some Sketches for Character Design

Sketches for my Character:
things I like are in green, and things I don't like are in red
The colour, the shapes
Too complicated really for an ancient robot; not rock like enough

Getting that roundness, and shyness in the face
The stance looks like he's constipated

I like this robot's stance, he looks relaxed, non-threatening
The eyes are too big; looks alien

And here are my Inspirations:

Character Design

My Character

Name: V3
Archetype: Gentle Giant

My character is a Technobot who awakens to find
his body has been used as homes for the junk bots for
hundreds of years. He starts rebuilding the planet for when
the aliens return to the planet, but his obstacles include the now
native citizens of the planet. Their homes have been destroyed and
and now they need to come to an understanding.

He wants to avoid violence as he is a gentle giant archetype.
He's caught between his programmed duty to rebuild the aliens' word and
to compromise with the junk bots and rebuild their society.

Maybe he learns that the aliens are never are never coming back;
that they've abandoned their planet and feels sad or lonely.

Thoughts on Robots

For our world design project robots and aliens are a big part of it, so I thought I'd post some ideas and inspirations for robots including my own designs.

This robot is clearly made out of metal, but looks like stone.
It's big and clunky, as opposed to sleek and streamlined.

The moss and plant life growing on the robot = ancient

This actually looks like a robot

These two robots are ancient 'Precursor' robots, designed by Bob Rafei
for the Jak and Daxter games.
I love the orange, and the rusted yet new design. The bulkiness

Oh Bob...why can't I quit you

More Stuff

I am a sucker for game concept art.
And Bob Rafei is my god

These are images from Naughty Dog's Uncharted game.
Beautiful environments, well thought out game design, just delicious.
